AYM FESTIVAL 2022 TROPHY PRESENTATION

At the classes in October 2022, the Adjudicators selected 13 individuals to perform in the Gala Concert. This was held in St Oscar Romero Catholic School on Sunday 6 November 2022. Compèred by George Jones, the appreciative audience followed each item with enthusiastic applause. Finally the Adjudicators Kay Tucker and Penny Jenkins had the difficult task of selecting the winners. Whilst they deliberated we were entertained by Sue Lyn Suresh on piano. The prizewinners are below, with images here:
Rustington Music Group Trophy (Young instrumentalist, 12 years and under): Hector Hall, piano. Hector played ‘The Detective’ by Pam Wedgewood.
Susannah Flegg Trophy (Vocalist): Ashtyn Roworth. Ashtyn sang ‘Easy on me’ by Adele.
The Raven Cup (Instrumentalist): Ethan Sebastian Neeson, piano. Ethan played ‘Romance’ by Scarra.
Angmering Chorale Bursary (Vocalist): Barty Hawkins. Barty sang ‘Is my team ploughin’ by George Butterworth.
Arun Young Musicians (Instrumentalist): Ruby Harte-Stovell, cello. Ruby played ‘Dance Rustique’ by William Henry Squire
Rotary Club of Littlehampton Award (Most promising musician): Millie Lewis. Millie sang ‘Popular’ by Stephen Schwartz.
Vi Casey Trophy (Arun Young Musician Runner-up): Ashtyn Roworth. Ashtyn sang ‘Easy on me’ by Adele.
Arun Young Musician 2022: Ben Ward, guitar. Ben played ‘Lagrima’ by Francisco Tarrega.
