The Festival this year was a big success bringing together many familiar faces from previous festivals together with brand new entrants from the local area. The preliminary classes took place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March 2013 at Georgian Gardens Primary School in Rustington. We welcomed lots of family and friends on the day with refreshments provided.
From the classes, a selection of the more outstanding candidate were asked to perform in the Gala Concert on Saturday 23rd March 2013 which was skillfully compered by Mr George Jones, Musical Director of twelve Primary Schools’ Music Festivals in Surrey.
Hannah Labus was ultimately crowned Arun Young Musician of the Year 2013 with her performance of Hartman’s Facilita Air & Variations on the Euphonium.
